Alma “Aggie” Hamer, 75, of Burlington, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
Aggie attended Glencoe Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a knitter at the Annedeen Hosiery Company. She loved her family and they described her as a person who was too good for this world.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the family cemetery located at 361 Wayne Trail in Burlington.
Aggie is survived by her children, Wanda (Doug) Painter of Burlington, Brenda (Rory) Owen of Alton, VA, Samantha (Jeff) Langston of Graham; grandchildren, Jonathon Painter, Elizabeth Painter, John Foust, Anthony Foust, Harvey Painter; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Carol (Donald) Johnson of Siler City, Sharon Smith of Graham, Julian “Jay” (Helen) Hamer of Holden Beach, John (Tina) Hamer of Julian, Ann (Mark) Hester of Graham, and Richard (Susan) Hamer of Raleigh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Phoebe Hamer; and son, Dewey Wayne Smithey.
