Obituary

Brandi Renee Heller Honeycutt, 33, died Friday December 17, 2021. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and grew up in Bahama, North Carolina.

An outstanding athlete, Renee was MVP of her middle school soccer team and played varsity soccer at Northern High School beginning as a freshman. She married Gregory Honeycutt in 2008 and moved to Stem, NC. She worked as a Nurse Assistant at UNC Hospitals for many years, where she found great fulfilment in caring for her patients. In recent years, Renee’s life centered on her family, especially her beloved sons Jaxson and Jonathan “Colt”. In addition to doing everything she could to support her sons and enrich their lives, she and Greg moved home to Bahama to help her parents with running and maintaining their farm. She is remembered by all as a sweet, kind person who was always happy to help others, loved her family and was endlessly proud of her wonderful children.

In addition to her husband, children, and parents, she leaves to cherish her memory her sister Mary, brothers Brandon, Robert, and Bradley, cousin Meghan, aunts Elizabeth and Sheila, parents-in-law Greg and Tina, sister-in-law Mandy, brother-in-law Donnie and wife Brandi, nephews Josh and Wyatt and nieces Heather and Emma, and many friends and extended family.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 31, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Mount Bethel UMC, 1605 Bahama Road, Bahama, NC.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the NC 529 college savings accounts for Renee’s two sons, Jaxson and Colt, making checks payable to Greg Honeycutt.
