Douglas Martelon

April 1, 1962 ~ May 6, 2021 (age 59)

Obituary

A generous father, husband, friend, son and brother. Doug cared so well for others in his quiet, behind-the-scenes way. We are thankful to have experienced his love, provision and care for so many amazing moments. Words are just not adequate to express the impact this man had on so many. If you knew him, then you know.

Today, precious Doug is dancing in God’s presence. God has completely healed him in the most beautiful way. Doug leaves each of us better than he found us.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations go to support the Intern and Apprentice programs of The Summit Church: https://summitchurch.com/give/give-now. Once logged in, choose the "MARTELON: In Honor of Doug Martelon" fund from the drop-down menu. You can also contribute by texting the key word “give” to 33933 (same dropdown option) or by mailing a check to the church offices with “in honor of Doug Martelon” written in the memo line.

Arrangements entrusted to Piedmont Cremation & Funeral Service of Graham, NC.

Sitting at Summit Brier Creek on Sunday morning just remembering YOU! I am recalling the original set-up of the Brier Creek Campus me volunteering, pulling wire, stretching cable, moving lifts, testing lights. Installing the useless countdown clock! We know it would not limit Pastor JD's preaching time. Praise Jesus!!!  And all the choir performances where you would ask me to get volunteers to take down the risers and put them back in storage at the end. You might have not known the impact you would have on people, but now you do! Thank you so much for your Servants heart. Well done my brother!!! Rest in peace Love you! Trena & Nicholas praying the God will comfort and strenghten you both!
