Evelyn May Epperson, 79, of 5006 Oakgrove Church Road, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 25, 2021, at her residence.
Evelyn was born into humble beginnings on February 28th, 1942. She and her extended family lived in Corbin Hollow nestled deep in what is now known as Shenandoah National Park, Madison Co Virginia.
Evelyn loved the Lord, reading her Bible and quoting scripture. She was a homemaker and enjoyed watching her cooking shows. She had a heart of gold when it came to a Cat in need, she has helped many in her lifetime. She loved and cared deeply for her family and was such a comfort to all of them. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could brighten your darkest day. This Earth will never be the same without her.
She is survived by her daughters, Valerie Epperson (Randy) of Graham, Theresa Foust of Mebane; Lynn Lloyd (Lewis) of Haw River; grandchildren Whitney (Ross), JJ, Daniel, Aaron, Luke and Lance; great-grandchildren Gavin and Colton.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her ex-husband and dear friend Maywood B. Epperson; mother; Sadie, siblings; Wade, Hoover, Mary Frances, Florence and Liza Jane, and son-in-law Frankie Foust.
A private gathering will be held later.

The Goathouse Refuge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill animal sanctuary dedicated to providing cage-free care for cats regardless of age, medical issues or disposition until a permanent loving adoptive home can be found.
