Holland Blake passed away at UNC Hospitals at the age of 52 after a valiant fight with Covid-19. Holland worked at UNC Hospitals for thirty years in different disciplines. The last few years he spent as an OR tech. He was well known to many all over the hospital, especially when he worked in patient equipment. Holland never met a stranger. He was always quick to lend a hand or pay a compliment, and he made everyone he spoke with feel like they were heard and important. His greatest accomplishment and the best gift of his life was his daughter, Grace. He cherished spending time with her, and he will continue to live on in her heart. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, kind heart, silly sense of humor, love of the LA Dodgers and UNC basketball. Holland is survived by his daughter Grace Blake, and former spouse Karen Blake, Mother Thalia Christine Walker, stepfather Ned Walker, sister Tisha Walker, brother Alan Walker, nephews Devonte Harris and Alan Walker Jr. and nieces Ashley and Kristina Walker. In lieu of flowers please send donations to: UNC Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill or St. Thomas More Catholic Church charities in Chapel Hill. A Celebration of Life is being planned for the Spring. Arrangements entrusted to Piedmont Cremation and Funeral Service.
