Obituary
Joan “Jessie” Hurley, 87, of Mebane, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5, 2022.
She previously attended Lamb’s Chapel and retired from a long career at Glen Raven Textile Mill. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling to the mountains, and playing games, especially bingo.
The family will celebrate her life in private.
Joan is survived by her three children, William (Diane) Gerringer, Carol (Darrell) Byrd, Rosa Davis all of Haw River; grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua B., Joshua H., Krystina, Jackson, Jacob; ten great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; and brother, William Lee (Theda) Jones of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hurley; mother, Linnie Taylor; father, Paul Jones Sr.; siblings, Alice Jones, Virginia Faggart, Paul Jones Jr., and Edith Forbis.
The family would also like to give a special thank you to AuthoraCare Hospice for their loving support and care as well as Dr. Brahmanday and his team at ARMC Cancer Center for the exceptional care of our mother.
