We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Piedmont Cremation & Funeral Service
Timothy “Tim” Floyd McKinney, 70, of Burlington, passed away at his residence on June 30, 2022 after a long and valiant fight against COPD and Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Tim attended Williams High School and attended Appalachian State before earning his BA degree from UNC in 1988.. He worked for many years in the food and beverage industry and was an awesome cook in his better days. His last job was as the main cook at Cedar’s Senior Living Community in Chapel Hill North Carolina. He lived in Chapel Hill for many years until his health began to decline and he moved back to Alamance County. Anyone who met Tim knew that he never met a stranger and that he loved to talk about lots of things past and present. I'm sure that he is in heaven hugging; he gave great hugs like our daddy used to give, and talking to everyone. Tim loved all his family very much.
There will be a small family gathering at a later date to celebrate Tim's life and reminisce about our sweet brother and uncle. All thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.
Tim was the son of the late Howard W. McKinney Sr. and Beatrice Simmons McKinney. Survivors include his sister, Jerilyn M. Nunley of Maryville TN, sister Vickey M. Jeffreys and her husband Ron of Graham, brother, Howard W McKinney Jr and his wife Debbie of Erwin, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements entrusted to Piedmont Cremation & Funeral Service of Graham.
